HIGHFIELD LEVEL 2 AWARD IN THE PRINCIPLES OF FIRE SAFETY AWARENESS COURSE OVERVIEW
The Highfield Level 2 Award in Fire Safety (RQF) has been accredited by the regulators of England and Wales (Ofqual and Welsh Government). It is part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (RQF).
It is supported by Proskills, the Sector Skills Council for the process and manufacturing sector.
The Level 2 Award in Fire Safety is a qualification aimed at anyone involved in the management of fire safety in any workplace. This includes managers, supervisors, team leaders, fire wardens (marshals) and staff working in any area where there is a potential risk of fire.
Learners gaining this qualification will know that fire safety is the responsibility of everyone in the workplace and will recognise the consequences of a fire in any premises.
This course will introduce the key principles and control at a management level and make delegates aware of and understand the vast range of topics involved in fire safety.
COURSE DURATION: 1 DAY
Have an understanding of the role and responsibilities of the fire safety manager. To ensure effective management of the day to day fire safety in buildings and compliance with the company’s policies and procedures. Understand the need for a company policy and emergency plan. Have knowledge of current legislation and the guidance documents available.
On completion of the course the delegates should:
- Understand the hazards and risks associated with fire in the workplace
- Understand how fire risk is controlled in the workplace
- Complete a basic fire safety inspection of the work place
- Understand the principles and practice of fire safety management at work and explore in detail good practice and law
- Understand the role of the nominated fire warden and how this role will assist the employer meet the legal obligation
Persons attending this course should have a basic knowledge of fire safety, experience as a fire warden would be helpful.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS COURSE?
Personnel who hold responsibilities for the administration and day to day control of all fire and safety matters, within an organisation. People who are taking on the role of fire warden for the organisation.
A Nationally recognised certificate will be issued on successful completion of the assessment and examination.
